Higgins HouseA family, utterly worn of log homes from a previous existence in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, chose this white/modern genre for their new home on Lake Michigan. The shoreline site, which appeared too narrow for others, was purchased by my clients and presented to this architect as both a challenge and an opportunity. The resulting design created a stepped plan of three smaller structures, enclosing enough space for their children and their many grandchildren to play in summer, while slowing down to create a more comfortably scaled interior in winter.Credits: Architect: David T.
